About Us
The PastFounded in 1971 as Kim Controls, Inc., we began in Minneapolis-St. Paul as a panel shop and an industrial controls system design house. Later we began distributing industrial control hardware.
In 1996, Kim Controls of Texas was opened in Austin as a branch office in order to better support some long-standing customers in the area with system integration and panel fabrication.
As our business with an Austin area customer expanded heavily into Tennessee, we opened a branch office of Kim Controls of Texas in Nashville, Tennessee to provide extended engineering support.
In 2003, Kim Controls was broken into two distinct companies under separate ownership. The product distribution group retained the name of Kim Controls. The system integration group and panel fabrication shop split away under new ownership to become Kim Automation, Inc.
The PresentKim Automation, Inc. has engineering and design offices located in:
- Minneapolis, Minnesota
- Austin, Texas
- Nashville, Tennessee
- Boise, Idaho
Utilizing engineering and technical resources from all three locations, we build world-class industrial control panels, design system integration projects, and install them nationwide.
